Terrific Thailand!

Thailand is one of my favorite and more affordable places to visit. I've been there several times over the years and never tire of it, spending most of my time in the north, in and around Chiang Mai. Highlights are listening to street musicians perform at the Tha Pae Gate (an ancient section of the wall around the old part of the city), the captivating King Cobra snake show, experiencing a pulverizing but refreshing Thai massage for a tenth of the cost of one in the U.S., motorbiking around Chiang Mai University, climbing up the Buatong "sticky" Waterfalls, drinking delicious and nutritious, cheap fruit smoothies, rafting, riding elephants, taking in the views atop Doi Suthep and Doi Inthanon (the highest point in Thailand), shopping at the downtown night market and Central Chiang Mai Mall, and eating at great restaurants like Khaomao-Khaofang, Jungle de Cafe, Dukes and Danissa. And the people are wonderful too! The Horizons Resort is a verdant and lovely place to stay and reasonably priced for the high quality provided. I hope one day to explore more of this amazing country nestled in the heart of southeast Asia . . .
