This one may surprise you as it did me, but I must say that Bangladesh has more to offer the wandering soul than I expected. Here are a few gems from my recent travels there including a visit to a famous poet's home southwest of Jessore, a mosque, a church, and a newlywed couple in Saidpur, and a radiant aquarium, funky colorful boats, a waterfall, a UNHCR compound serving the largest refugee camp in the world, and the longest uninterrupted beach in the world near Cox's Bazar, including views of neighboring Myanmar from Tek Naf in the extreme south of the country. There are definitely some hidden gems within this incredibly crowded land that has about half as many people as the United States crammed into an area smaller than the state of Illinois! I look forward to returning and further exploring this very affordable and diverse country . . .
